Chandigarh Housing Board has selected 51,000 applicants out of 1.23 lakh who have applied for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Chandigarh earlier this year. The first phase for construction of 10,000 flats will be started in October and the possession of these flats will be handed over to allot tees till July 2019.

The estimated cost EWS flat is Rs 10 lakh, LIG flat is 20 lakh, MIG -I flat is Rs 35 lakh while the estimated cost of MIG-II flat is around Rs 40 lakh. The CHB board has forwarded the proposal to Chandigarh Administration for approval. After the grant of approval construction of flats will be stated in October this year.
Location of Flats in PMAY Chandigarh
The location of PMAY flats in Chandigarh will be Dhanas, Mauli Jagran and Maloya where CHB has requested the allotment of 38 acre, 6 acre and 60 acre land respectively. 5500 flats will be constructed in Maloya, 4,000 in Dhanas and 500 in Mauli Jagran.
Earlier in March this year CHB has conducted demand survey for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for which 1.23 applications were received. After sorting out the application 51,000 applicants are selected as eligible to avail benefits of PM Awas Yojana. The list of selecetd applicants will be published soon on CHB website.
