DDA Housing Scheme to Penalize Applicants Surrendering Flats with Heavy Fine
One of the reasons behind a large number of vacant flats in DDA Housing Scheme 2014 was surrender of DDA flats due to small sizes. This happens because flats made for LIG group were grabbed by most of the MIG and HIG applicants which later turns out to have small size issues. Due to this, 12,000 flats were returned or we can say surrendered by the applicants. To avoid such circumstances, DDA Housing Scheme 2017 will come with heavy penalty on applicants surrendering flats. This will be as follows:
- If someone fills DDA Housing Scheme Application Form and surrenders his application before the draw date, the amount he spent on registration fees will be returned to him without any deduction.
- However, if someone does wants ti surrender the DDA flat after the date of draw but before the issue of demand letter, then DDA will deduct 25% amount from his registration fees and remaining amount will be returned to the applicant.
- If the applicant returns DDA flat after the issue of the demand letter but within 90 days of it, then DDA will deduct 50% of the registration fee
- After this time period, if someone wishes to surrender the flat, he has to leave his entire registration fees to DDA.
This will bring some serious buyers into action and non-serious buyers will think twice before investing in DDA Housing Scheme 2017.
